Barbara Louise Osborne Lange died peacefully on October 20, 2017 succumbing to injuries related to a fall. Barbara was born September 5, 1931 in Salt Lake City Utah to Leslie and Alice Osborne. Raised in Sugar House she attended East High, attended BYU, then saw the error of her ways and attended the University of Utah. Barbara married Raymond Lange on June 26, 1953. They lived in Cottonwood Heights for over 30 years where they raised their two sons. Barbara worked as a lunch lady at Mountain View Elementary, later she went to school to learn the new technology of data entry and worked at the Utah State Tax Commission until her retirement. Barbara and Ray built their dream home in Beaver Springs Ranch above Oakley, Utah. When Ray retired, they moved there and lived year-round. They enjoyed many years together surrounding themselves with family and friends before Ray passed away on January 1, 1999.

Barbara continued to live her dream with the help of family, friends and neighbors. She was a loving, loyal and caring friend to many. She was a sports fanatic especially loving her Utah Jazz. Barbara enjoyed the beauty of the mountains and caring for the wildlife around her cabin: the hummingbirds, and her beloved pet squirrel Kevin, who gave her endless hours of entertainment.

Barbara is survived by her son Kent (Karen) Lange, son Clark (Kris) Lange, grandson Chris (Naomi) Lange, grandson Jonathan (Liz) Lange, great granddaughters, Rylee, Ella and Anniston, brother-in-law Keith Lange and sister-in-law Eleanor Lange and her best friend Lugene Bowthorpe. Preceded in death by her husband Raymond Lange, brother Richard Osborne and grandchildren Cody and Cori Lange. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her many friends at Beaver Springs Ranch who made it possible for her to live out her dream until the end.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) in Sandy. Friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday, October 26 from 6 to 8 PM and Friday morning from 10 to 10:45 AM prior to the service.
