I was born in Mannheim, Germany to Luise Reuter and Ralph Hechtle shortly after WWII. My grandfather had to serve in Russia under Hitler, and my father was forced to serve in Hitler’s youth corp. My grandfather had a friend in the USA who sponsored him and opened the door for he and his children to immigrate to the USA. My parents and I came in 1953 and settled in Provo, UT.

I went to school in Orem, UT and graduated from Orem High School. I started college in Cedar City doing pre-med. After close to 2 years I decided to pursue a career as a funeral director and graduated from the California College of Mortuary Science with an associate degree. I did an apprenticeship in Utah and became licensed as a funeral director.

I started working for Larkin Mortuary in 1990 and have enjoyed working there for the last 26 years. I have 4 children who are all married, and I have 13 grandchildren who are all dear to me.
