Tom began his funeral career at the age of 12, working for the FitzHenry Family in Indio, California where he grew up. He graduated from Cypress College in 1996 and went on to become a manager at Fitzhenry Funeral Home, Wiefels & Sons and the Matthews Family, Oceanside Mortuary, and finally ended up at Larkin Sunset Gardens. "Starting so young has helped me appreciate all aspects of funeral service. From washing and cleaning cars, vacuuming the mortuary, changing light bulbs, and sweeping the parking lots to arranging detailed funerals, memorial services, and celebrations of life, I've learned how to do it all. No detail is any less important than another."
“I’ve had a great career and have enjoyed meeting and helping thousands of people on their worst days. Helping them through the funeral process has taught me to be honest, humble, and kind.”
When Tom is not working, he can be found on his bass boat or in front of his smoker cooking a great meal. “I love cooking for my family and friends.”
Tom has four children, Tommy, Taylor (Danny), Tanner, and Taytum. He also has three amazing grandchildren, Micah, Rocco, and Vali.
Working in the funeral business has been very fulfilling and it’s been a great pleasure to take care of so many families. “I wish I had found Larkin Mortuary earlier in my career. They truly care about the families that we serve and the families of their employees!”
