Mitch Anderson is a licensed Funeral Director, Embalmer and Cremation Specialist with Larkin Mortuary and currently serves as the Manager of the Larkin Mortuary – Riverton location. He was born and raised in the Salt Lake valley in a family of all boys. He graduated from Hillcrest High School in Midvale, Utah. After graduating, he joined the funeral profession in 2011 because he was impressed by the service his family received during the many funerals and losses they experienced while he was growing up.
After nearly 3 years of working in the funeral profession and completing his apprenticeship, he moved to Dallas, Texas, to attend the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. While in school, Mitch served as class Vice President, was a member of Pi Sigma Eta, the National Morticians’ Academic Fraternity, and served as the fraternity Chaplain. He graduated in 2015 with many high honors and recognitions and moved back to Salt Lake where he quickly licensed and began working with Larkin Mortuary.
One of the things Mitch loves most about his job is the ability to be there with the many families and help guide them through the difficult process. His love of serving others is characterized in the mindset of “what better time to serve others, than during some of the hardest times in their lives.” He loves explaining and showing the many options that are available as part of the memorialization process, and to be able to personalize the services in honoring their loved ones. He considers working in the funeral profession his calling in life and felt inspired and directed to the career early on.
Mitch and his wife Robyn married in 2017 and currently have one son. Robyn’s family grew up taking many trips over the years with their travel trailers, and in turn exposed Mitch to the joys that can be found traveling and seeing new places. They were excited when they were lucky enough to buy their own trailer and begin to make their own memories. Though Mitch already loved the outdoors, his new preferred method of “glamping” causes him to regularly try to plan the next great adventure. He enjoys spending time in the outdoors and finding opportunities to spend time with his family and friends. He is truly a people person!
