Daniel Lee Fredley
04/11/1948 - 11/05/2019
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Daniel Lee Fredley returned home to our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, November 5, 2019. Dan loved people with his whole heart and soul and happily served others his entire life. He also exuded positivity in every aspect of his life.
Dan was born in Chicago, Illinois to Lloyd and Lucille Fredley on April 11, 1948, and grew up in Hammond, Indiana. During the Vietnam war, Dan joined the U.S. Navy along with all four of his older brothers. He married his eternal companion Deborah Jean Bickel on January 30, 1971, in Gary, Indiana. A couple of years later, he graduated from Indiana State University with a degree in History. Dan and Debbie were sealed in the Washington D.C. temple and would later serve together in the Mongolia Ulaanbaatar and Salt Lake City South Missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Nothing made him happier than spending time with his family. Dan loved sharing his testimony of Jesus Christ and was a friend to everyone. He had a way of drawing people in with his humor, his smile, and his spontaneous singing and dancing. Dan impersonated artists such as Elvis Presley and Louis Armstrong. He also loved cooking, traveling and hiking. He loved living in the moment as much as cherishing the memories.
Dan will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 years, Debbie and his children, Hilary (Scott) Jeffery, Daniel (Mary), Brandon (Melina), and Heather. Dan will also be fondly remembered by his nine grandchildren, Dallin, Kate, Hannah, LiLayla, Emmalina, Benjamin, Tyler, Vincent, and Oliver, and by his brothers, Donald (Valarie) and David (Diana). Dan was predeceased by his parents, Lloyd and Lucille, and his brothers, Lloyd and Stephen.
A funeral service in memory of Dan will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at 10:00 a.m., at the Legacy Ranch Ward Chapel, 4080 W 12600 S, Riverton, UT 84096, a visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00. a.m. Interment will follow at the Utah Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 17111 S Camp Williams Rd, Bluffdale, UT 84065.
