Jeannine May Hanson Heward

Jeannine May Hanson Heward passed away in her home on April 11, 2018 surrounded by her family.  She was born May 1, 1935 in Salt Lake City, UT, the first child of Elon Samuel Hanson and Ella Margaret Seeger Hanson.  In her teen years, she met the love of her life, Verl Dale Heward.  She waited for him to serve a mission for the LDS church after which they married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 18, 1956.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter and friend.  She loved being surrounded by family. She enjoyed a variety of crafts and had a talent for them.  As a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in many positions including a church mission with her sweetheart, Dale, a temple worker in the Salt Lake Temple, Relief Society President, and positions in the Young Women and Primary organizations.

She is survived by her husband Verl Dale Heward and their children, Randy & Becky Heward, Cheri & Randee Bergeson, Stacy & Kirk Russell, Timothy and Kathy Heward, Kristine Arveseth, Spencer & Kellee Heward, James & Jessica Heward, 44 grandchildren and soon to be 34 great-grandchildren, and siblings Judi & Dick Walker, Jerry & Suzanne Hanson, and Jim & Lori Hanson.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 16, 2018 at 11:00 am at the LDS Chapel at 1355 E. 7200 S., SLC.  Family and friends may call Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the LDS Chapel at 1355 E. 7200 S., SLC.  Interment at Larkin Sunset Garden at 1950 E. 10600 S., Sandy.

The family expresses their deepest gratitude to the many caregivers who helped Jeannine over the past few months.
