Jocelyn Diane Spendlove Steed passed away Friday, May 17, 2019, at her home in Sandy, Utah surrounded by loving family. She was born October 17, 1975 in Vernal, Utah to Brian W. Spendlove and Inga Ruth Ross Bowen. She grew up in Washington DC, Vernal, and Sandy, Utah. Jocelyn graduated from Westminster College with an RN degree, working many years as a nurse and creating lasting friendships. She was known for being gentle and kindhearted and loving. She enjoyed nature and hiking, family and good friends.

She married Brandon Steed, later divorced, and they had three children who were her universe, fully devoting herself to them. The last two years were spent with her fiancée, Scott Miller, who, together with her mom, loved and cared for her and her children, especially through the last difficult times.

Jocelyn is survived by her father and mother, step-mom Anita Spendlove, grandmother Ruth Ross “Mutti“ of Berlin, Germany, daughter Katelyn, sons Kevin and Collin, fiancée Scott Miller, step-brothers Casey (Jennifer) and Jonathan (Amanda) Bowen, step-sisters Laurie and Cynthia Bowen, half siblings Alex Spendlove and Jaylene Hackett, uncles and aunts, many special cousins, and extended family in Germany. She was preceded in death by her stepfather Nathaniel Bowen.

The family would like to thank Dr. Bigelow and staff for many years of care, the exceptional care of Intermountain Hospice, and the many caring friends, Eastridge 1st and 7th Ward members, and our neighbors for their overwhelming support.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2019 Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) in Sandy, Utah. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, we suggest donations to a charity of your choice.
