Cheryl Kay Cowden Robinson was born May 3, 1944 to Edith Brown and Willis Cowden in Salt Lake City, Utah. She passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Barbara Bissegger. She was a loving, loyal, and dedicated caregiver to each of them before their deaths and looked forward to being reunited with them.
Cheryl worked as a secretary, receptionist, ward clerk at LDS Hospital, a medical assistant (her favorite), and an information specialist for Salt Lake Planning and Zoning, from which she retired after 20 years.
Cheryl belonged to the Cottonwood Presbyterian Church and served there as an Elder, Deacon, Sunday school teacher, Stephen Minister Usher, and an In-Home Communion Server. She enjoyed her service and association with the church.
Cheryl married Earl D. Robinson and was later divorced. They remained friends and she considered his children "step", in name only.
She is survived by nieces and nephews: Christie (Damian) Clayburn, Mike (Kirsten) Bissegger, Linda (Henry) Lucero, and David (Kim) Bissegger, along with their families. She is also survived by her "Robinson family", including 5 step children and 3 step granddaughters, Anita Holland, Lariat (Richie) Saavedra, Vashti (Austin) McClure and their families. Cheryl has many cousins and friends who hold a special place in her heart.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Sunridge Assisted Living for their care and friendship the last few years of Cheryl's life.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at 11:00 am, at Larkin Mortuary Downtown, 260 East South Temple, Salt Lake City. She will be buried with her sister and parents at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
