Dennis Odin Young

Dennis Odin Young, 85, passed away on October 8, 2026, in South Jordan, Utah. Born August 22, 1941, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Odin and Rhodora Young, Dennis lived a life marked by gentleness, faith, and a steady love for the people around him.

As a young man, Dennis served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Oslo, Norway. He carried a lifelong dedication to the gospel and gladly served wherever he was called in the Church.
Dennis built a career as an electrical engineer, work he loved and took great pride in. He married Cheryl, and together they built a family filled with love and laughter.

Dennis was happiest outdoors. He loved hiking and fishing, especially in the Uintah Mountains, where he found peace and made countless memories with those he loved.
Those who knew him will remember his soft-spoken, patient nature, and a good joke was never far away. He loved to laugh and to make others laugh.
Above all, Dennis treasured his family. He delighted in his grandchildren and great- grandchildren, and they were a constant source of joy.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Odin and Rhodora, and his siblings Keith, Carol, and Lynette. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; his children Brett, Kristen (Don), Michelle (Lyle), Marie (Ryan), and Jeff (Julie); 20 grandchildren; and 9 great- grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on October 22, 2026, from 9:00 am – 11:00 am at Larkin Mortuary, 3688 W 12600 S, Riverton, Utah. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the National Park Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
