Eugenie Meyer Hatch

Eugenie Meyer Hatch, 93 passed away on September 22, 2026, in Riverton, Utah on the first day of fall. She was born March 16, 1933, in Kriwall-Hutte Ukraine, to Albert Berthold Meyer and Maria Subtschinski.

Eugenie met and married Benn, the love of her life, in Kassil, Germany while he was serving there for the U.S. military. They soon moved to the states and were sealed in the Salt Lake temple. They have two children; six grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Eugenie was a beautiful, loving and wonderful wife and mother. She was an avid hunter, rockhounder, and loved boating and fishing. She was a rummy shark and best cookie baker. She loved gathering her family together and baking her German treats for us. She was full of memories of her Germany childhood and loved sharing her stories with us in that German accent. She was always proud to wear the jewelry her husband made for her. She had a set for every outfit. She loved to garden and put up canning her harvest. Her jams and jellies were out of this world. If you could picture the perfect fifties housewife, that was mother. In a dress in the kitchen with her apron and pearls and a smile. She will be greatly missed by us here on earth.

She is survived by her son Raymond (Valerie); daughter Silvia (Larry); 6 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her Husband; her parents; 4 of 6 siblings; and a great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Friday October 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) in Sandy, Utah. Friends and family may call upon the family one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
