Francia Elena Carreno

Francia Carreño was born in Cali, Colombia, on March 22, 1949. She was the daughter of Aníbal Carreño, who worked for Cementos del Valle, and Dolores Carreño, who lovingly devoted herself to caring for her family.

From a very young age, Francia was known for her sense of responsibility, discipline, and dedication to education. She worked hard to build a better future for herself and graduated as a teacher. At an early age, she began her career as a teacher in a rural school, demonstrating her passion for service and learning.

Later, her family moved to Bogotá in search of better opportunities. There, she worked as a secretary in various positions, always standing out for her professionalism, dedication, and strong work ethic.

In 1969, she married Roberto Galindo, with whom she built a loving family and raised five children, whom she loved deeply. During this time, she embraced the gospel of Jesus Christ and became a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a faith she lovingly taught to her children and carried with devotion throughout her life.

Francia was also the founder and manager of a printing business, where her entrepreneurial spirit, leadership, and determination became evident to all who knew her.

In 1996, she moved to the United States in search of a quieter life for herself and her youngest son, Daniel. She settled in Orlando, where she worked as a photographic specialist for Fujifilm in the minilab division, carrying out her work with excellence and commitment.

In 2016, she relocated to Herriman to be closer to her children and her church community. Even in her later years, Francia remained hardworking and independent, serving faithfully as an invaluable leader in her church and setting an example of faith, service, and strength for all who knew her.

In January of this year, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She faced treatment with courage and grace, but ultimately passed away peacefully at her home in Herriman, Utah, surrounded by the love of her children.

Francia leaves behind a lasting legacy of faith, perseverance, love, and service. She is survived by her five children, eleven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, who will forever honor her memory and the extraordinary example she set in their lives.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 30 at 10:30 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary Riverton, 3688 W 12600 S, Riverton, Utah. Francia has requested guests wear happy spring colors to the services.

Obituario de Francia Carreño

Francia Carreño nació en Cali, Colombia, el 22 de marzo de 1949. Fue hija de Aníbal Carreño, quien trabajó para la empresa Cementos del Valle, y de Dolores Carreño, quien se dedicó con amor al cuidado de su familia.

Desde muy niña, Francia se distinguió por ser una persona responsable, disciplinada y dedicada al estudio, siempre esforzándose por salir adelante. Se graduó como bachiller normalista y, siendo aún muy joven, inició su vocación de servicio como profesora en una escuela rural.

Tiempo después, su familia emigró a Bogotá en busca de mejores oportunidades. Allí se desempeñó como secretaria en diferentes trabajos, demostrando siempre su capacidad, dedicación y profesionalismo.

En 1969 contrajo matrimonio con Roberto Galindo, con quien formó una familia y tuvo cinco hijos, a quienes amó profundamente. Durante esta etapa de su vida conoció el evangelio de Jesucristo y se convirtió en miembro de La Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días, fe que abrazó con devoción y enseñó con amor a sus hijos, dejando en ellos un legado espiritual perdurable.

Francia fue fundadora y gerente de una imprenta, destacándose por su espíritu emprendedor, su liderazgo y su incansable ética de trabajo.

En 1996 viajó a los Estados Unidos en busca de una vida más tranquila para ella y su hijo menor, Daniel. Se estableció en Orlando, Florida, donde trabajó como especialista fotográfica para Fuji Film en el minilab, desempeñándose con excelencia y compromiso.

En 2016 se trasladó a Herriman, Utah, para estar cerca de sus hijos y de su congregación. Hasta sus últimos años mantuvo su carácter trabajador e independiente, sirviendo fielmente como una líder invaluable en su iglesia y siendo ejemplo de fortaleza, servicio y fe para quienes la rodeaban.

En enero de este año fue diagnosticada con un tumor cerebral. Recibió tratamiento con valentía, pero finalmente descansó en paz en su hogar en Herriman, Utah, rodeada del amor de sus hijos.

Francia deja un legado imborrable de fe, esfuerzo, amor y servicio. Le sobreviven sus cinco hijos, once nietos y tres bisnietos, quienes honrarán siempre su memoria y el ejemplo extraordinario que dejó en sus vidas.
