Glenn Alvin Wilfert

It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Glenn Wilfert, who passed away on July 27, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on May 28, 1938, in Petaluma, California to Alvin and Emma Wilfert. Glenn lived a life defined by service, integrity, and unwavering devotion to his family.

A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Glenn's testimony and faith were guiding influences throughout his life. He sought to live with kindness, humility, compassion, finding strength and purpose in his beliefs.

Glenn proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and later in the National Guard. His military service reflected the qualities that defined his life—honor, dedication, humility, and a strong sense of duty. He carried those values with him throughout his life and inspired those around him by his example.

Glenn was the beloved husband of Kristina Wilfert. Together they shared a life filled with love, faith and devotion, recently celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They built a loving family that remained the center of his life. He is survived by his children Mark, Kristin, Brad (Kathy) and Paul (Miranda), as well as his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him tremendous pride and joy. He was predeceased in death by his beloved son Stephen and his brother Roy.

Family was always at the forefront of Glenn’s life. He found great happiness in watching his grandchildren grow, especially as he cheered them on in their sports and supported them in their many activities and their successes in life. Being present for their accomplishments and milestones was one of the great joys of his life, and he treasured the memories made alongside them. He also had a passion for golf and basketball and loved spending time watching tournaments and games, sharing stories, discussing players, and talking strategy with family and friends.

Glenn will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, honored veteran, and loyal friend. His quiet strength, kindness, wisdom, and steadfast support left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He lived a life of purpose and left behind a legacy of love, service, and dedication.

Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the values he lived by will continue to guide and comfort those who loved him for generations to come.

A memorial service celebrating Glenn’s life will be held at the Larkin Sunset Gardens chapel, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road (10600 S.), Sandy, Utah 84092 on August 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Military honors will be rendered immediately following the memorial service in recognition of Glenn's faithful service to his country.

Family and friends are warmly invited to join the family for a luncheon following the military honors at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2675 E. Mt. Jordan Road, Sandy, Utah 84092.
