Heidi Kate Pearson was born August 14, 1996, at the home of her loving parents Kady Marie and Roger Archibald Pearson in Las Vegas, NV.

She was born with Down syndrome and faced many complicated surgeries throughout her life. Despite the challenges she experienced, Heidi brought love, joy, and light to the many people around her.

Heidi had a special love for animals and babies. She has a lot of nieces and nephews and loved holding them when they were babies.

When she was a baby, young women from her church would come to spend time with her, helping with her therapy, playing with her. Members of her church became some of her earliest friends. Heidi was deeply loved by all those who had the opportunity to know her.

As a teenager, Heidi enjoyed talking with her friends, singing in choir, filling her notebooks with scribbles, reading (looking at) books, and watching her favorite movies like
High School Musical. She graduated from Desert Oasis High School in 2015.

After high school, Heidi participated in a special program in Las Vegas that provided opportunities for adults with disabilities to learn, work, and become more independent. Through the program, Heidi worked at a pet shelter, where she helped bathe dogs. She also worked at a magazine and a thrift store. At home she would frequently cook herself fish sticks and top ramen. Heidi loved having a purpose and being part of her community.

Heidi was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

In 2024, following the passing of her mother, Heidi moved to Sandy, Utah, to live with her sister and her family. There, she enjoyed spending time at the Friends Clubhouse in Sandy, UT.

Heidi loved her family and friends. She called her siblings to sing them Happy Birthday every year. She loved giving and receiving and treasured gifts for years.

Heidi is survived by her father, Roger Pearson, and her siblings: Abraham Pearson, Enoch Pearson, Christian Pearson, Marilene Ross, Anne Johnson, Megan Osburn, and Luke Pearson.

Heidi’s mother, Kady Pearson preceded her in death. Heidi shared a very special bond with her mother. Her mom devoted so much of her life to caring for Heidi, loving her, advocating for her, and making sure she had every opportunity to learn, grow, and experience life. Heidi did not eat her first solid food, a Pringles chip, until she was 4 years old. Kady poured countless hours of time, energy, and love into Heidi, and their lives were deeply intertwined. It is comforting to know they are together again.

Heidi’s funeral will be a small graveside ceremony and burial at her family cemetery near Pioche, NV, at the Pearson family ranch on Saturday, October 10, 2026.
