Jerry Pullman, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away at the age of 81, leaving behind a legacy defined by athletic excellence, quiet integrity, and genuine kindness.

Jerry was born October 12, 1944, to David and Olga Fadel Pullman, and grew up alongside his older brother, Paul. From an early age, it was clear that Jerry was something special. At Highland High School, he earned letters in three sports and was part of the 1962 Highland football team that claimed the state championship, a memory he carried with pride throughout his life. He graduated with the class of 1963.

Jerry went on to the University of Utah, where his athletic gifts continued to shine. He was named All-Conference in both football and baseball and was honored to be part of the 1964 University of Utah Football Liberty Bowl Championship team. In football, he held the WAC career interception record for 13 years, which is a testament to the instincts, discipline, and competitiveness that defined him as an athlete. Following college, Jerry pursued professional baseball, spending four years in the San Francisco Giants organization.

Even as the years passed, Jerry never lost his love of competition. He continued playing softball and soccer well into later life, because for Jerry, the game was never really over.

After his playing days, Jerry devoted himself to his work and his community with the same dedication he had brought to every field he stepped onto. He worked for many years in the family business, Pullman English Tailors, where he was known not only for his warmth with customers, but above all for his honesty and integrity; qualities that were simply who he was. He later joined Ivory Homes, where he spent more than 20 years as a consistently top-performing sales consultant and trainer, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.

Jerry is survived by six children, ten grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He shared a close and cherished bond with those who were a constant presence in his life, and that love meant the world to him.

At the end, Jerry was surrounded by love, including that of his cherished daughters, Tara and Sage, as well as his lifelong friends, Bish and Sue Held, who remained by his side until the very last moment. That loyalty was a reflection of the man he was, which was someone who inspired deep and lasting devotion in everyone fortunate enough to know him.

The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Julie and Kylee, whose kindness and grace carried us through these past few weeks.

Jerry Pullman was one of a kind. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, May 15, 2026 at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 N Street, Salt Lake City, Utah.
