​Kathy Munford Hadlock, a resident of Sandy, Utah for fifty-four years, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at the Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah from complications of a heart attack.

​Kathy was born on June 18, 1949 in Cedar City, Utah to Ramona Rowley and Warren T. Munford. She grew up in Cedar City as the youngest of seven children and graduated from Cedar High School. Kathy continued her education at Robert Steur’s College of Beauty and earned a cosmetology license.

​While visiting her sister, Barbara Benson, Kathy met James Curtis Hadlock. They started dating and were married in the St. George Temple on June 7, 1969. They made their home in Sandy and raised four wonderful children together. Kathy was an AVON representative for 40 years and made many enduring friendships during that time.

​Kathy was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She relentlessly dedicated her life to genealogical research and family history. Also, she continuously studied the scriptures and was a wonderful teacher in the Church.

Kathy lovingly cared for James during his eight-year battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis until he passed away after 43 years of marriage. Since then, Kathy has spent her time comforting the sick, the lonely, and the heavy laden.

​Kathy is survived by her four children: April (Mike) Resendez, Tony (Angela) Hadlock, Emily (Brian) Thrap, and Andrew (Katie) Hadlock. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Benson and Marian Johnson; brothers, Raymond (Carol), Roger, and David (Geri) Munford. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband James; her parents; and her sister, Helen Bauer.

​A viewing will be held Friday, August 14th from 6-8 PM at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 15th at 11 AM at the Buttercup Chapel, located at 1600 East Buttercup Drive, Sandy, Utah. A viewing will precede the funeral services from 10:00-10:45 AM.
