Ken Turner passed away peacefully on June 10,2026 at the VA Medical Center in SLC, Utah.
He was born September 5, 1928 to Regnal
M. and Viona Kenney Turner in Murray, Utah.
Ken attended Jordan High School, class of
47. He played football, ran for class president and was yearbook editor for 2 years. He also enjoyed playing trumpet in the dance band. After high school, Ken attended the University of Utah.
He married Janice Warren on Sept 4, 1948. They were together for 70 years before her passing in 2018.
Ken served in the Air Force during the Korean War from April 1951 to September
1952. He was a radio technician in Olathe, Kansas, before being honorably discharged.
He chose photography as his profession, and owned his own studio. He then became a partner in Herridge and Associates, then later switched to industrial photography and did freelance work up until he retired.
Ken was an avid sportsman. He loved his horses, tennis, cycling, fishing, hunting and golf. He was published in several hunting magazines.
He was very proud of his participation in helping to establish Great Basin National

Ken was charismatic and charming.
Everyone who knew him, loved him. He had many friends and seldom missed his daily visits with his coffee buddies at Liberty Park Beans and Brews.
He is survived by his two daughters, Janell (Terry) Overturf, Debra Chaille (Kevin)
Ethington, 9 grandchildren: Kristy Overturf-Lacy, Melissa (Tina) Morandy, Wendy (Jess) Tuckett, Stacey Haslam, CJ (Tron) Johnson, Logan (Trish) Ethington, Devon (Nicole) Ethington, Ethan (Mackenzie) Ethington, and Zac (Tori) Ethington,18 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.
Preceded in death by his parents, his sister Janett (Lynn) Wright, wife Jan and great grandchild, Eric Oligario.
Funeral services will be held at Larkin
Sunset Gardens Cemetery (10600 So.
1700 E. Sandy, Utah), on Monday, June 22,2026 at 12:00 with viewing one hour prior.
