Marjory Anderson

Marjory “Mitzi” Anderson, beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend, passed away on May 14, 2026 at the age of 93.

Mitzi was born in Salt Lake City on October 27, 1932. Her parents were Glen Christensen Anderson and Edna Jean Rigby Anderson. She grew up in Salt Lake City with her four wonderful, fun-loving sisters, who were also her best friends.

Mitzi graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in education. Loving travel and adventure, she soon left Utah and dashed to Europe, landing a job teaching elementary school in Germany. While living in Germany, she traveled extensively in the Middle East and Europe. She taught countless elementary school-aged children in Germany and later California. She loved her students and she loved to teach. One of her favorite teaching methods was to incorporate music in her lessons.

Mitzi loved music, travel, playing games, and spending time with her family and friends. She had a unique free-spirited and fun-loving personality and she spread joy and smiles to all. She will be sorely missed.

Mitzi was preceded in death by her parents and by her four beloved sisters - Jean Nelson (Frank), Donna Stephens (Wayne), Carol Anderson, and Ruth South (Kent).

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 19 at 12:00 noon at the Larkin Mortuary (260 East South Temple, Salt Lake City). Family and friends are invited to visit from 11:00 to 11:30. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
