Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Mary Jane (Eresuma) Heugly, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026, at the age of 85.

Mary Jane was born October 19, 1940, in Highland Boy, Utah, to Leandro and Margaret (Abeyta) Eresuma. She graduated from East High School in 1959 and went on to work at Southeast Furniture, Holy Cross Hospital, and, for many years, Intermountain Health Care before retiring.

In 1963, Mary Jane married Charles Welker, and together they welcomed two daughters, Janie and Julie. She later married and divorced Ross Heugly.

Mary Jane had a wonderful appreciation for beautiful things and took pride in creating a lovely home. She enjoyed plays, concerts and musicals, attending her grandchildrens’ extracurricular activities, time spent at the recreation center and golf course and memorable trips to Mexico with her girlfriends.

A talented seamstress and baker, Mary Jane especially loved the traditions of Christmas. Her holiday baking and candy making were enjoyed by family and friends for many years. Her famous English toffee became a family favorite, and its recipe has been lovingly passed down to her grandchildren so the tradition may continue for generations.

Mary Jane was the proud grandmother of Brandon, Jordan, Breanna, Austin, and Erik, and great-grandmother of Presley, Jack, Cole, Hudson, Luke, Remi, and Ripp.

She is survived by her daughters, Janie Wells and Julie Hildebrandt (Gary); sisters, AnnaLee Piercey and Gloria Saputo; brothers, Bill and John; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leandro and Margaret Eresuma; her brother, Lee Eresuma; and her sister, Louisa Avila.
