October 30, 1948•September 9, 2026

Ogden Nelson Stewart lived a life full of curiosity, adventure, laughter, and love. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Ogden passed away on September 9, 2026, at the age of 77, leaving behind countless stories and memories that will keep his unmistakable spirit alive.

Ogden was born on October 30, 1948, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Kenneth and Leone Stewart. He grew up alongside his three sisters and graduated from Cyprus High School. In 1967, Ogden joined the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War as a sharpshooter. After returning home, he continued his education and became a skilled welder. He later established himself as an expert in the heating and air-conditioning industry. Ogden concluded his career as a facility engineer, managing a building for JIL. When the building was sold, his knowledge and experience were so highly valued that he remained with the building under its new ownership. He retired in 2013 after many years of dedicated service.

Ogden met and married the love of his life, Allie Sue "Sue" Stewart. During their 39 years of marriage, Ogden and Sue shared countless adventures and traveled to many memorable places. Most of all, they treasured the time they spent with family and friends.

One of Ogden's greatest joys was helping raise his granddaughter, Freedom. The two shared an exceptionally close and loving bond that meant the world to him.

Everyone who knew Ogden has a story about something he did or said. Throughout his life, he pursued many interests, including skiing, scuba diving, target shooting, traveling, and getting wonderfully lost along the desert backroads. He was endlessly curious and loved learning new things-then sharing what he had learned with anyone willing to listen.

Ogden took a genuine interest in people and enjoyed hearing about their lives. His wonderful sense of humor and seemingly endless supply of jokes could bring laughter to nearly any situation. He will be remembered for his kindness, his willingness to help others, his love of conversation, and the unmistakable personality that made him Ogden.

Ogden is survived by his devoted wife, Sue; his stepdaughter, Kimberly; his granddaughter, Freedom; his sisters, Colleen Welte, Arla (Steve) Rosso, and Danna Wagoner; his nieces, Janet Sinclair, Tracy Clayton, ; his nephew, Rick Clayton, ; and his sister-in-law, Martha Duke who helped during his final months, He also leaves behind many additional nieces and nephews, cherished friends, and-as those who knew him will appreciate-his massive collection of "treasures."

Ogden's legacy of love, generosity, laughter, and kindness will live on in the many lives he touched. We will deeply mourn his passing and carry him in our hearts always.

As Ogden would say, "I love you, and I hope you are having a good life."

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at Silverado for the compassion and care they provided to Ogden during his final months.
