Robert "Bob" John Harrington was born December 31, 1937 in Murray, Utah to Paul Smith Harrington and Hazel Dell Javaine. Bob passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026.
Bob grew up in Midvale, Utah, with his younger brother, Ron. He attended Midvale Elementary School and Midvale Junior High, then graduated from Jordan High School in 1956, where he played basketball, football, and baseball.
After high school, Bob enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served for three years at the Naval Air Station in Alameda, California. During his service, he played on the Alameda Naval Baseball Team, which won the 12th Naval District Championship. He completed his tour of duty aboard the USS Cape Esperance.
From an early age, Bob was a devoted New York Yankees fan and a lifelong lover of sports. He coached his sons in Little League baseball for ten years and remained enthusiastic about athletics throughout his life.
Professionally, Bob built a successful career in the electronics distribution industry, serving as both a salesman and general manager. In 2001, he founded his own electronics representative firm, Skyline Electronics. He retired in 2010 to spend more time enjoying life with his children and grandchildren.
Bob was also a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many church callings and, in 2015, completed a full-time mission in St. George, Utah. He was always willing to serve wherever he was needed.
Bob is survived by his children and their partners: Lori (Jason) Henry, Annie Entwistle, Jami Whitlock, Robert (Lydia Platt) Harrington, and Scott Harrington.
He is also survived by his extended family: Mechelle Harrington (sister-in-law), Guy (Shelley) Marler, Margot Marler (sister-in-law), Michelle Graham, Michael (Myrna) Marler, Sonnet (Ray) Sim, and Sandra Marler.
He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Harrington and Hazel Javaine; his brother, Ronald Harrington; and his stepbrother, David Marler.
