Tamara Binns

Tamara was born on January 22, 1945, in Price, Utah, to Mervin and Miriam Tuttle. She was the youngest of three children, with two older brothers, Paul and Preston.

Tamara met the love of her life, Richard, in 1957 when she was just 12 years old. They graduated together from Lewis & Clark High School in 1963 before attending Brigham Young University, where Tamara studied Elementary Education. On September 3, 1965, Tamara and Richard were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple.

Together, Richard and Tamara built a beautiful family and are the parents of nine children, twenty-nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Being a mother was Tamara's greatest joy and life's calling. She poured her whole heart into raising her children, and countless others who crossed her path often said she was like a second mother to them. She had an extraordinary capacity to love, welcoming everyone with open arms and making each person feel seen, valued, and at home. Her home was filled with love, laughter, and fun—a place where family and friends naturally gathered because everyone wanted to be with her.

Tamara was a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ and faithfully served in many callings throughout her life as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as both a Primary President and a Young Women President. Her favorite calling, however, was serving in the nursery, where she lovingly served for more than 20 years.

Tamara's life was defined by quiet Christlike service, unwavering faith, and unconditional love for her family and all who knew her. Her influence will continue to bless generations, and her family finds comfort in the knowledge that families are eternal and that they will be joyfully reunited with her again.

Tamara is survived by her children: Tauna (Dave) Lang, Tiffany (Stewart) Gollmer, Kyle (Andrea), Terra (Greg) Johnson, John (Alyce), Tisha (Jason) Curley, Tracie (Rick) Neeley, and Derek (Angela) ; 29 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Preston Tuttle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her daughter, Tarese; daughter-in-law, Tiffany; her parents, Mervin and Miriam Tuttle; and her brother, Paul Tuttle.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the LDS chapel at 2215 East Roosevelt Ave Salt Lake City, Utah. Viewing will be held before the service from 10:00-11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the LDS Missionary Fund.
