Violet Aleta Jenson

Violet Aleta Jessop Jenson was born on October 8, 1954, in Murray, Utah, to Joseph Lyman Jessop and Beth Allred Jessop. She was the twelfth of thirteen children born to Lyman and Beth.

At only four years old, Violet was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. In spite of swollen knees and constant joint pain, she enjoyed a fairly active childhood filled with family, activities, and wonderful memories. Despite her physical limitations, Violet played the piano beautifully, loved to dance and play basketball, and was very active in church service.

Violet graduated from Murray High School in 1973 and went on to attend Utah Technical College. She worked for many years as a legal secretary, later worked for Big Valley Credit Union, and eventually did bookkeeping for Mountain Valley School.

In 1975, Violet married Joseph LaMoine Jenson, and they shared many happy years together. Violet longed for motherhood and waited many years before her greatest earthly blessing arrived. Her only child, Milly, was born in February 1987.

Throughout her life, Violet faced many serious health challenges. There were many times her life was extended miraculously. Over the years, her physical condition gradually deteriorated until she became wheelchair-bound. Yet Violet refused to let her limitations define her. Through careful attention to her diet and a conscientious dedication to her health, she far exceeded the expectations that had been placed on her and was blessed with many more years of life.

Above all, Violet remained faithful to her testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ. Her faith was not simply something she spoke about—it was something she lived. Through years of pain, physical limitations, and trials, she remained a valiant example of faith, perseverance, and devotion to the Lord. She touched the lives of many through her love, service, and steadfast example.

Following an accident with her wheelchair that resulted in a fractured spine and knee, Violet’s health deteriorated rapidly and she passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026.

Violet is survived by her daughter, Milly; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and seven siblings. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, parents, and many siblings.

Violet looked forward with great anticipation to a joyous reunion with these loved ones who have gone before her. Her family finds comfort in knowing that her earthly trials are over and that she is now at peace, reunited with those she loved and faithful to the Lord whom she loved and served throughout her life.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 21, 2026 at the RCA Building, 1224 West 16580 South, Bluffdale, Utah. Viewings will be held at the same location the evening of Sunday, September 20, 2026 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM as well as Monday prior to funeral services beginning at 9:30AM. Interment will follow at the Rocky Ridge Cemetery in Rocky Ridge, Utah.
