Shawn A. Dansereau passed away on August 19, 2017 in Murray, UT.  He was born November 26, 1974 in El Paso, TX to Danny and Valerie Dansereau.  He married Emily Chamberlain in the Denver LDS Temple. They have been married for 19 years. Together they have two children, Tristan and Autumn. Shawn was a loving and devoted son, husband, father and brother.

Shawn was a talented builder, engineer and mechanic.  He has been in construction management for 19 years.

Growing up, Shawn was a talented athlete.  He enjoyed playing football, swimming and soccer.  He played on the Utah State University Soccer team for one year.  He loved hiking and climbing and has climbed over fourteen 14,000 ft. peaks in Colorado, earning the 14-er Award. However, his true passion was biking, both mountain and road biking.  This passion began in high school while riding the foothills of the Rocky Mountains outside of Denver.  Shawn had many friends in Utah and frequented the Timpanogos Canyon Ride.  He completed the LOTOJA, a ride between Logan, UT and Jackson Hole, WY, as both an individual and relay biker.

He served an honorable mission in the California Anaheim Mission.   Shawn loved the Boy Scouts of America as a youth and an adult leader.  While he did not earn his Eagle, he completed Wood Badge Training and was a passionate leader helping other boys finish their Eagle rank early.  Shawn has coached children since high school. He coached swimming, soccer, and later coached his own children in hockey. Hockey became his family’s true passion.

Shawn had a big heart.  Always going out of his way to help others before helping himself.  We will miss him dearly every day.

He is survived by his wife, Emily and children Tristan and Autumn, parents Dan and Valerie Dansereau, grandmother Barbara Dansereau, siblings: Tonya (Dusty) Davis, Travis (Melissa) Dansereau, Aaron (Maranda) Dansereau and Chelley (Jonny) Budge as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at the Pioneer LDS Ward building, 8670 South 220 East in Sandy, UT.  A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church.

  • Our family is deeply saddened at the news of Shawn’s passing. He was such a wonderful young man—always so friendly and personable. The Danseareau family has raised the nicest group of children anywhere. We love them all and know how deeply their wonderful Shawn will be missed. There is no greater pain than in losing a child. We send special love to Shawn’s wonderful parents and siblings, and also to his beautiful wife and sweet children. We pray that they will be comforted and fortified by the Holy Ghost to make it through this trying time. They can find solace in the knowledge that the Second Coming of Jesus Christ is fast approaching, when during the glorious Millennium, sweet Shawn will be reunited with all of his loved ones again. Stay close to the Lord and all will be well.
    Much love,
    Dennis & Martha Bullock
