Shirley Joan Haight

Shirley Joan Levingston Haight passed away July 4, 2019 in Tooele, Utah. Shirley was born the 9th of 12 children to Clarence A. Levingston and Hazel L. Wooten, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on July 9, 1935.
Shirley met William (Bill) Haight and married the love of her life at the tender age of 16. On June 7, 1952. Together they had eight children. On July 28, 2004, they were sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake Temple.
Shirley had another love interest. That was doing handwork, and especially crochet. She excelled in her ability out of a love for the craft. She made many afghans, doilies, and dolls. She made afghans for each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. And for the girls, she crocheted a dress, bonnet, and booties.
Shirley was a homemaker for most of her life only joining the work force after her children were grown and had families of their own. She worked in Salt Lake City at Sperry Univac, until Bill retired. At this time, they were able to travel and had new adventures.
Shirley is survived by four of her eight children, Susan Haight (Tooele), Hazel (Gordon) Henwood (Grantsville), John Haight (West Jordan), and Blaine (Anita) Haight (Bakersfield, CA). 9 grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson. One brother Clarence (Albert) Levingston (Tremonton) many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Bill, and sons Merle Lee, William Glen, Charles Dean, and Russell Dale, her parents and 10 of her siblings.
Funeral services will be held Thursday July 11, 2019. 11:00 am, at the L.D.S Stake Center at 81 N. Church Street in Grantsville, Utah. With a viewing held Wednesday July 10, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. And 1 hour prior to service on Thursday. A luncheon will be held from 12-1:00. Thank You to the 10h Ward Relief Society.
Graveside and Interment will be at 2:00 pm at Larkin Sunset Memorial Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road (10600 S.), Sandy, Utah.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to the Rocky Mountain Care Facility in Tooele. Also, to the staff and caregivers at Beehive Homes in Tooele. And a very Special Thank You for the care given to our mom at Rocky Mountain Hospice, especially to nurses Calvin and Kylie Mutcher.
