Susanna Catherine Wittmann Conover, 93, passed away October 11, 2017 in Salt Lake City, Utah.  She was born February 19, 1924 in Southwick, Idaho.  She was the first child of four children born to Edward Wittmann and Paula Appolonia Roth.  Sue attended the University of Idaho and received a Bachelor’s degree with high honors in Sociology and a minor in History and Languages.  She also served as the homecoming queen there.  In 1945 she received a scholarship to attend the University of Utah and moved in 1946 to further her studies in Social Work.  While attending the University of Utah she met and married C. Glenn Conover on August 26, 1946 and raised five sons.  She had a lot of patience to deal with that kind of pressure.  She became a member of the LDS church in 1948 and served in a variety of positions in the Monument Park 2nd Ward and later she and her husband served a humanitarian mission to the Philippines in the 1980s.

Sue is preceded in death by her husband, C. Glenn Conover, in 2004.  She is survived by her five sons and their spouses, Glenn (Pam), Rick (Donna), Mark (Deidre), Jon (Charla), Kim (Karen), as well as 17 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 12 noon at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South.  Friends may call one hour prior to services.  Interment at Larkin Sunset Lawn.

  • Sue was always so nice and friendly to me. Whenever I would come over to your house to hang out, she was cheerful and would offer to make a snack or something. She treated me like I was one of her boys. She had to wonder sometimes, what type of mischief we were up to, but she always had kind things to say.

My condolences to your family. It is hard to lose someone you love, especially your mother. May God bless you and comfort you in your loss.
