Joan passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 5th, 2020. She was born on Sept. 20, 1931 to Lytle D. and Florence Tripp Moyer.

She grew up in Salt Lake City, graduating from East High School in 1948. She spent some of her high school years working in Yellowstone National Park. Shortly after high school she married Harvard G. Foulks; together they had 4 children. Later they divorced, and she married Raymond F. Byrd.
She spent many years working at Walker Bank, and then she went to work at the University Hospital where she was a medical records specialist until her retirement.

She loved gardening at home and spending time outdoors. She was active in 4H Horse Club. Joan had a love for animals and horses were her soft spot. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends; holidays were an especially important time.

My deepest sympathies. My sister (Barbara Ferris) was married to George Moyer. You may not know, but Barbara passed away last August after falling down the stairs. It was certainly unexpected. She and our whole family loved George. She missed him until the end.
