On Tuesday, April 13, 2021 Loretta Mae Watts Wilde, also known as Lorrie, Mom and Grandma passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Lorrie was born in San Francisco, California on June 7, 1935 to her parents Ernest John Watts and Kathleen Josephine Taber Watts. She had one brother Ernest John Watts Jr.

She spent the first 13 years of her life living in San Francisco and then moved to Marin County, across from the Golden Gate Bridge. At the age of 13 her mother passed away from heart failure. She missed her mother dearly and has now had a wonderful reunion with her.

She attended Tamalipas High School in Mill Valley, California where she met her future husband, Philip Wilde. They married in 1954 at the
courthouse in San Francisco. Together they had 4 children: Cindy Wilde, Lonnie Wayne Wilde (Tonya), Larry Milton Wilde and Darcy Arnell Wilde Marshall (Ted). She also has 7 grandchildren and has also been blessed with 14 great grandchildren

Lorrie was a very strong and resilient women. After her mother passed, she lived with different members of her family or friends and experienced different cultures. She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when she was in her early 20’s. Her most favorite calling was to work with the primary children. Her most favorite place to vacation was at Pinecrest Lake, California. She loved being there and camping and watching the movies under the stars. Mostly she loved being at Pinecrest with her family.

She spent her life working outside of the home to help support her family. She started her working career working at Woolworths in San Francisco. She worked many years at Hamilton Airforce base and Presidio in San Francisco as a clerk and was proud to serve our military men and women for over 20 years. When she was 50 years old she opened her own family daycare and was very successful. She had 12 children on average a day to care for. She worked very hard and loved every minute of it.

Both Lorrie and Phil retired to Utah about 14 years ago to be near their children. Phil passed away in 2011 and Lorrie moved in with Darcy and Ted and their family. She enjoyed being the Grandma that always had candy for the grandchildren. She was very fortunate to be able to spend the last 9 years getting to know and spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by both of her parents, baby son Larry and her husband Phil.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, UT.
