It is with heavy hearts we say goodbye to our sweet Mama. Sandra Copeland Chalstrom was born on April 17th, 1948 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She passed away quietly in her home, surrounded by loved ones, on July 22nd, 2020 in Salt Lake City, Utah. As the only child of Harry Edward Chalstrom, whom she lost at seven years of age, we find peace in the reunion of her and her beloved father. She is also reunited with her mother Rubye Rosebud Chalstom whom she lost in 2004. Sandy’s love and acceptance was cherished by all who knew her. Her motherly warmth was felt by so many, and the lives she touched are countless. Her southern charm mixed with a free loving spirit filled every room with light and comfort. Her sharp edged wit was tempered with a history of wild and insightful reflections. No subject was off limits with Sandy and no one was ever unaccepted in her presence. Her example of unconditional love will be her legacy. The memory of her beautiful smile and the soothing sound of her voice will stay with us forever. We shall always strive to be the impeccable versions of ourselves reflected in her eyes.

A memorial service will be held in her honor at her home on Tuesday, August 4th from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

Guestbook/Condolences

Dear Jensen, Caitlin and Hannah,
I am not sure if you remember me or not but I was your nanny for several years. I have not seen you or your sweet mom in several years. I am so sad to hear of her passing. I am so sad that I didn’t have a chance to see her one last time on this earth. I would love to talk or communicate with any of you if you would like. So so sorry for your loss. Colleen

I am so saddened learning just now of Sandy's death. Sandy and I grew up together and lived three houses down from each other in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We were very close friends in high school. Sandy was so much fun and she had an incredible smile and great sense of humor. I loved our friendship dearly. Rest in peace, Sandy, in God's arms forever. I'll be seeing you again. Love, Connie.
