Waltraut Irmgard Schoenrock
1929 ~ 2020

Waltraut Schoenrock returned to her Father in Heaven early on May 18, 2020, in Draper, Utah at the age of 90.

Waltraut was born August 23, 1929, in Eichenthal, Germany. She was married to Karlheinz Schoenrock on September 22, 1951 in Hamburg, Germany, and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on November 4, 1952. They had traveled by ship to emigrate to the United States in the spring of 1952.

Vie, as she called herself, was primarily a homemaker and developed her numerous talents, sewing clothes for her children, knitting, crocheting, gardening, creating ceramics, and painting. She also enjoyed indexing. In retirement, making jewelry became her favorite activity.
Vie enjoyed sailing with the family when Karlheinz had Sailboat at Bear Lake for many years. Other family activities and excursions took us to Canada, camping in San Francisco, California, at Red Fish Lake in Idaho, and other destinations in the Intermountain West. Mom traveled often to her home country, Germany, to visit her parents and sister and see sights she had read about. There were also trips to Hawaii, Japan and to various parts within the United States when our dad traveled for business.

It was a joy for Vie to create a beautiful home and her favorite calling in the Church was serving in the nursery and leading the singing in Primary.

Waltraut Schoenrock is survived by four children: Heide Schoenrock (Suess), Wil Schoenrock, Esther Schoenrock (Robertson, Tucker) and Mira Schoenrock.

Waltraut is preceded in death by her husband Karlheinz Schoenrock who passed away on January 29, 2018.

Small Graveside Service was held at Larkin Sunset Gardens on May 20, 2020
