Carolyn Crawford passed away peacefully on May 10, 2020, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on November 4, 1932, at 11:30 pm to Glen and Clara Hogan at Cottonwood Maternity Hospital in Murray, Utah. She was the fourth child out of five and the only girl. The Hogan family was full of fun, active children. Out of the 22 cousins, there were only 3 girls. Therefore, mom proclaimed herself a tomboy at a young age. Carolyn started school at the age of 7. She was very bashful and afraid to talk. She called high school “the tragic years’ because of the late nights doing stuff called “lessons”. After high school, Carolyn attended college in San Francisco, California for a short time. She hoped to be an airline stewardess but ended up working for the Census Bureau and the post office. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she held many positions. Carolyn married Gary R. Jones and they were later divorced. She married Deon D. Crawford on December 5, 1961, and they were sealed in the temple in 1979.

As a child, she was raised with a passion for flowers and gardening. She inherited the love of flowers from her mother who worked as a florist. She loved her children and grandchildren with a passion. She did everything in her power to make sure they had the things they needed, she was a constant supporter of ball games and church outings which was obvious to anyone in attendance due to her vocal cheering ability. Mom had a great love for animals and was surrounded by her beloved pets as well as her loving family.

Carolyn is survived by her children, Kyle (Kristi) Jones, Christine Jones, and Jana (Peggy) Crawford. She is preceded in death by her husband, Deon. Son, Rodney G. Jones, daughters Jill D. Crawford, and Tiffany Crawford and a great-grandson, Xander Toliver.

Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2020, at 12:00 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road, Sandy, Utah.
