  • The morning of April 29, 2020, Jimmie A Crowther of Sandy, UT passed on from this mortal existence to the spirit world to be joined with his wife and son. Jimmie was born in Salina, UT July 23, 1942 to Samuel and Genevieve Crowther.

Always a man of adventure, Jimmie’s favorite pastime was flying airplanes. He flew his Piper J-3 Cub all over Utah and Nevada. As well as flying crews into Icy Bay, Alaska to dredge gold. The Sevier county roads were his racetrack in his 1953 pink Ford convertible. He caught the eye of his future wife as he sped past. She decided he was the one. Jimmie, being committed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ was married for time and all eternity to Erlene Alvey in the Manti Temple in 1962. They had three wonderful children who each brought much joy to their lives.

Part of Jimmie’s life was spent in Ely, NV when he owned a Huskies service station and other businesses. After he and his family moved to Sandy, UT Jimmie worked as a heavy machinery mechanic then truck driver. Up until a couple weeks prior to his passing, Jimmie hauled propane tanks all over the western United States in his Peterbilt truck, the “White House”. Much of his travel allowed him to stop and enjoy hikes in nature, which was one of his true loves. Dedicated to health and wellness, in his 70’s Jimmie could boast running over six miles.

Jimmie is preceded in death by his wife, Erlene, and son, Casey. He is remembered by his loving daughters, Christine (Monte) Hansen and Kellie (Ryan) Barker, grandchildren: Cody (Samantha) Crowther, Baylee (Matthew) Montgomery, Alex Barker, Grayden Barker, and three great-grandchildren.

    Guestbook/Condolences

I'm so sorry to hear of your dad's passing! I just found out about it. I was thinking of him a lot lately and decided to stop by the next time I'm in town. It's been at least 4 years since I've talked to him. I'm happy he's with your sweet mom now and out of this awful pandemic! The best to you both, hugs!
