  • Charles Eugene Williamson, age 77, of Draper, Utah, entered into a peaceful rest at home surrounded by love and family on Saturday, May 1, 2021. He was born in Spencer, Indiana on April 16, 1944, son of Charles Roy and Pauline Owens Williamson.

    He was a man of all trades and skill: drill instructor in the Marine Corps, owner of a security guard corporation, flight instructor, master craftsman, auto and aircraft mechanic, professional bus driver for many celebrities and entertainers, American and patriotic hero and long-time Veteran. He served in the United States Marine Corp for 6 six years, was wounded several times and received a Purple Heart with three stars, Good Conduct Medal with one-star, Presidential Unit Citation Vietnamese Service Medal with one-star, Vietnamese Campaign Medal with device and Rifle Sharpshooter Medal.

    He was a beloved spouse, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a friend to all. A kind soul and lover of all animals. He was compassionate and always helped those who were in need or homeless. Giving the shirt off his back and never asking for anything in return.
    Chuck is survived by his wife, Marcy Williamson; children Eric and his wife Terri Williamson of Green Forest, Arkansas, Tucker and Carson Cornia of Draper, Utah, Cynthia and her husband Tom Campbell of Venice, Italy, Elizabeth and her husband Charles Kriz of San Antonio, Texas, Summer Williamson and Justin Lowery of Green Forest, Arkansas; brothers Ben Williamson of San Francisco, California, Michael Williamson of Mulberry, Arkansas; sisters Diana Cheshire of Clarksville, Tennessee, Carleen Williamson of Alma, Arkansas, Sharon Gromosiak of Greenwood, Indiana, Meredith Roberts of Rudy, Arkansas; grandchildren Courtney Campbell of Venice, Italy, Sherry Bernal of Camp Pendleton, California, Shelby Scitern of Green Forest, Arkansas, Rhett Williamson of Green Forest, Arkansas, Kami Fultz of Green Forest, Arkansas and Chloe Kriz of San Antonio, Texas. Chuck has five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one son, Charles “Chuckie” Williamson, Jr.; two sisters Darleen Williamson and Patty Clark; and many other friends and loved ones.

    The family wishes to thank the Veteran’s Administration Salt Lake City Oncology team of years of love and continued care, especially Nyna Tryon. Thanks to the Canyon Hospice care team for their kind and gentle ways of caring for Chuck.

    Larkin Sunset Gardens, located at 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.) in Sandy, Utah will receive friends and family for a viewing at 12:00 – 1:45p.m. on Wednesday, May 5, with a funeral service at 2p.m. followed by a graveside service at Larkin Sunset Gardens cemetery.
