  • With heavy hearts, the Memmott family regrets to announce the passing of Darlene Memmott on August 29, 2021.

Born on February 22, 1932, Darlene was the big sister of eight siblings. After graduating high school, she worked for O.C. Tanner Mfg. Company off and on for 20+ years. She married Norman R. Memmott (1931-2016) on September 1, 1950. Together they had five children: Debra Lee, Mitzie Kay, Kristie Lynn, Toni Jean (1959-1962), and Douglas Reed. They were subsequently blessed with four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Her first two grandchildren nicknamed her “Teeny Gram” because of her small statue. Whether it be a competitive game of Jacks or an adventure in the park, she was always excited to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She had a kind and gentle soul with a sassy sense of humor that could make anyone laugh. She always had a full cookie jar and was sure to put a smiley-face sticker on every birthday card.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff at Crescent Senior Living and her hospice team, especially Jamie and Tanisha.

A visitation will be held Saturday, September 4th, 2021 at 10:30am at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South). Graveside service will follow at 12:00pm in the Garden of the Last Supper. Lunch will be served following the graveside service at Le Jardin, just west of the mortuary.
