Darrell Roger Wilson, loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away on April 1, 2021 at the age of 75.
Roger was born on November 25, 1945 in Ogden, Utah. He graduated from South High School in 1964 before serving his country in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967. Upon his return from Vietnam, he married Linda Ann Talbot in the Salt Lake Temple on December 29, 1967.
He worked at the Smelter at Kennecott Copper for several years and later retired from the US Postal Service in 2011.
Roger loved to be outdoors camping, fishing, and hunting. He was also known around the neighborhood as the fix-it man. He knew how to fix almost anything and loved to help those around him by sharing his talents.
Roger’s membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was something he cherished greatly. He held many callings in the church and spent a lifetime serving others.
He is survived by his wife Linda, daughters Kim (Brian) Carter, Colette Wilson, Nanette Wilson, Lisa (Bryce) Jardine, son Jared (Keara) Wilson, and seven grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents.
Roger was loved by so many and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 6th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Valley Ridge Ward, 5823 South 4800 West, Kearns. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 7th at 11:00 AM with a viewing one hour prior to the services also at the church. Interment to follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.), Sandy.
