David John Martin Sr, age 76, passed away on Friday August 21, 2020 in Phoenix, AZ. He was born February 16, 1944 in Salt Lake City, UT, to Walter John Martin and Ruth Naomi Martin and he grew up in Roosevelt, UT.
He was a 1962 graduate of Union High School, and had a career in trucking, driving for Consolidated Freight-ways for 34 years. He enjoyed his career; it gave him the opportunity to enjoy the open road and the adventure of new places. He had a passion for music and cars. He played the trumpet, trombone, drums, and other instruments. His positive attitude and laughter were infectious and he was loved by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Gloria, 7 children, 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a brother Daniel Martin, 4 nieces and nephews, and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Ruth Martin, and one of his sons Jorge Olivas.
A private family service will be held in Salt Lake City.
