Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, was born March 2, 1923 and died February19, 2022, eleven days before her 99th birthday.

Delpha was born in Orangeville, Utah to John Irving and Annie Logan Jewkes. She married Blaine McFarlane August 24, 1944 in the Hotel Utah Gold Room in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St George LDS Temple September 19,1984. They had two daughters, Lyndell (Oliver) Farey and Madalon (David) Wilson, seven wonderful grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Blaine passed away July 7, 1994.

She was our own “Rosie the Riveter”. During WWII she worked at The Remington Arms Plant in Salt Lake City making ammunition for the war. It was shift work but she loved working there. She worked as a car hop at the A&W drive-in on 5th South and State Street in Salt Lake City. She was a secretary at McFarlane Fuel & Stoker Company where she met Blaine, the love of her life. She worked in retail sales and collections for Auerbachs, ZCMI, Salt Lake Credit Union, The Paris, and Lerner Dress Shop.

Delpha loved her devoted husband, their home and the wonderful life they shared. She had a very special love for her daughters, their husbands and all their children. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in Sunday School, Mutual, Primary and Relief Society for many years. She loved music, flowers and interior decorating.

Delpha was always happy and enjoyed life. She believed, “You have to make your own happiness”.

So sad to hear of Delpha's passing. She was such a great friend to my grandmother, Kerma Noyce. I remember as a child going to church while staying at my grandparents' house. Delpha would always sit with Kerma in Sacrament meeting. After Grandma died, I still would bring Delpha Christmas candy's that were Kerma's recipes that I had made.I had brought her candy the first of this year and Delpha was so happy to get them. I will miss making a batch just to be able to bring her some.
