  • Glenn Charles England, our loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022.

Glenn was born May 5, 1943, in Murray, Utah, to Orvil Charles England and Lucy Ann Holmes. He graduated from Olympus High School in 1961 and attended the University of Utah prior to serving in the Southwest British mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He married the love of his life, Gaye Ann Harris, for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on September 9, 1965. He worked for American Linen Supply Company for 37 years and retired as Sales Manager at the age of 62.

Glenn grew up in Salt Lake City with a love of the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, camping, waterskiing, golfing, and spending time at his cabin. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Ducks Unlimited, and Northpoint Fur and Reclamation.
Glenn knew how to appreciate the small pleasures in life. Some of his favorite memories were of the days he got to skip school to spend time hunting with his father. He also had a tender heart for the many dogs and cats he had as pets throughout his life. He loved his truck, his Eliminator boat, playing Yahtzee on his cell phone, and drinking Dr. Pepper with a lot of vanilla.

He spent each day in service to everyone around him, especially his wife Gaye. He was her biggest fan and always by her side, be it “Driving Miss Daisy” everywhere, spending time with her on the couch watching movies, or on the cabin deck watching the chipmunks and feeding the hummingbirds. His daughter and grandchildren were the other stars of his life. They can’t remember a time when he wasn’t cheering them on, supporting them in every activity, and filming every life event.

Glenn lived life to the fullest, was always smiling, and had a sense of humor that drew everyone to him. He entertained us all with stories of his antics growing up as well as his daily adventures, and he had a joke for every occasion. His oft repeated philosophy of life was: “Like my dad always used to say…Life is just one hassle after another with a few good hunting trips tossed in between.”

He is survived by his loving wife, Gaye Harris England, daughter Jennifer (Kelly) Craghead, three grandchildren, Zachary Craghead, Emily (Isaac) Olsen, and Jacob Craghead, sister Beth (Greg) Ludlow, and many close friends whom he considered family.

It’s definitely going to be a “hassle” to carry on without you. But thank you for showing us how to enjoy all those “good trips” in between. We love you.

Family and friends will be received from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 25, 2022, at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 South), Sandy, UT. A viewing will also be held Saturday, February 26, 2022, from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at the LDS chapel located at 8100 South Top of the World Drive, Cottonwood Heights, UT. Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. and will be live streamed using the following link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUo0IS6sE69vpvnqvZah2Vg/videos

Interment will be at City View Mortuary, 1001 E 11th Avenue, Salt Lake City, UT, 84103.

    Guestbook/Condolences

I feel so fortunate to have become acquainted with Glenn. Kelly introduced me to him a few years ago at the duck club. He made me feel like a long time friend from the first day I met him and always made me feel welcome on our hunting trips. He is one of the kindest people I have ever met.
I am so sorry for your loss. May God bless and comfort you at this time.

I was fortunate to have met Glenn, he was a regular customer of Don Antonio's Mexican Restaurant. He always had a joke and made our staff laugh. He loved his wife and was proud of her , he showed us pictures of her and her performances. She is a beautiful lady. He was so full of life he would come in on Saturday's after duck hunting for his Chile Verde burrito. Glenn I know you will be missed by many, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I was so sorry to hear about Glenn’s passing. I worked with him for over thirty years. Glenn was the kindness, most generous, and caring person I have ever known. He had a smile or a joke for everyone . He was so giving and I remember every Christmas when he brought us all the wonderful cookies, fudge and the rum balls you made, he was so happy to share them with us and how proud he was of you for making them! We all used to joke that we could smell Glenn before we could see him. He will be missed!
