Gloria left this world on March 11, 2021, in time to celebrate her Mother’s birthday. Born on January 22, 1931, in Ferron, Utah, she passed away peacefully at age 90 surrounded by her loved ones, in her home in Sandy, Utah.
Gloria is survived by her husband of 50 years, Mark Boltis; by her Runolfson children Nan Jensen, Lynn (Julie), Tonya Roberts (Drew), Bret (Suzanne), Russell (Tracy), Christina Wardrop (Rob), and her youngest son Al Boltis; by 22 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, her sister Wanda Ostler, and many nieces and nephews.
Gloria is preceded in death by her parents Cecil S and Norma Andreasen Bertelsen, siblings Cecil & Kent Bertelsen and Connie Whitney. She was also preceded in death by two of her sons, Steven and Bart Runolfson, a daughter-in-law, Lisa, and her Rat Terrier, Lizzy.
Gloria was known for her love and compassion toward all people and creatures. If you met her on the street you were considered a friend. Family was the most important thing in her life and gave her purpose. Besides her work at home, she spent many hours in home-based businesses to help provide the extras for her children. She leaves a great legacy of hard-work and dedication which she passed on to her children and grandchildren.
She loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ and looked to heaven for peace and hope. She served faithfully in many church callings. She created award-winning gardens and was famous for organizing fun experiences with her wonderful cooking as a focal point of each gathering. She loved her country and was very patriotic.
