Joseph Walter Lindsey passed away peacefully as he slept on Saturday, June 12, 2021.

Joseph was born on April 21, 1933, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Theodore Lloyd Lindsey and Edith Price. When he was a young boy, his parents divorced. Edith remarried William Carl Adams Evans a few years later, which gave Joe and his brothers a wonderful father, and cherished childhood in the close knit community of Samaria, Idaho.

Joe was a man of great intellect, with advanced degrees in Mechanical Engineering. His professional focus was building rockets; but his talents were many and varied. He could fix anything. He was a master woodworker. He had a remarkable determination for acquiring knowledge through reading about a subject, and then doing it. Once, after reading a book and following the instructions therein, he built a beautiful guitar, and learned to play it.

But perhaps his greatest passion in life was his love for all of God’s creations. His happiest days were those spent in the mountains hiking, backpacking and fishing.

Joseph was a Veteran of the United States Army, and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Upon his death, Joe was reunited with his parents, his brother, Ted, and son, Joseph Todd Lindsey.

He is survived by his wife, Ivonne Jauregui Lindsey, brother John Jay Evans, children David Lloyd Lindsey (Claire), Laurie Jo Little (Roger), and Christopher Carl Lindsey (Laura), as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 10 at 11:00 a.m. at the Samaria, Idaho Cemetery. Interment to follow there.
