Karen was born on November 19th, 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah and attended West High School where she participated in the Pep Club and played tennis. She successfully retired from Hercules where she worked as an Executive Contract Administrator.

Karen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she faithfully served in various positions including Relief Society Instructor, Scribe to her husband, the Stake Patriarch, and an Ordinance Worker in the Jordan River Temple.

Karen married William Boyd Sessions in the Salt Lake City Temple on November 18th, 1995 where they were sealed together for time and eternity. Karen loved camping with her husband, bowling, making crafts by knitting, crocheting, and cross-stitch. She was an avid reader. She loved sports, especially football and basketball, and would attend Utah Jazz games with her husband. She especially loved watching the Utah vs. BYU football games where she would cheer for the Utes and her husband would cheer for the Cougars!

I remember the day Boyd and Karen moved into our neighborhood and became members of the Whitewood Ward family. They were the happiest of newlyweds! It was wonderful they had finally found each other. They shared laughter, fun and firm testimonies of the Gospel of Jeses Christ with all of us. Their Whitewood Ward family missed them terribly when they eventually moved years later. I would have loved to see Karen's reunion with Boyd on the other side of the veil! They just adored each other!

    My Dear Aunt Karen,

I wish to let you know how much you impacted me as a child. I remember coming over to your house and you were always willing to give me a sandwich or a snack. Play with me or show me how your dog Heidi would do her tricks. I remember when you would take Patti, Doug, Gary, Kelly and I to Arctic Circle and get C-boxes. Seems so simple now as an adult but to me it will forever have an impression on my heart that you loved me. I know that you are with loved ones and that heals my heart.
Thank you for being there for me a young boy!
    Love John
    Thank you!

I was Karen’s Visiting Teacher many years ago and as is usually the case I always felt I Received more than I gave. She was a wonderful, faithful woman and I know she and Boyd are so happy to be together again.
    Our prayers to your family.
