  • Mary Angela DaRonche passed away peacefully on June 16, 2021. Born to Giovanni and Maddalena DaZanche in Agordo, Italy in 1926. Mary and her family immigrated to Bingham, Utah when she was 12. Soon after arriving in America, she faced the hardships of losing both her father and her brother Bruno in separate mining accidents; this suffering forged her strength and resolve. Her journey may have begun with hardships, however, that was only a part of her story. On January 29, 1949, she married the love of her life, Louis V. DaRonche, at St. Teresa Child of Jesus church in Midvale, UT. Inseparable, they would spend the next 63 years by each other’s side raising two sons.

Mary was one of those rare individuals that added a light to the lives of everyone she met. Her love was infectious and genuine, it came naturally and was experienced by all who were granted the gift to know her. Mary’s devotion shined outwardly to her parish, her friends, and most of all, her family. Nobody ever questioned whether they were loved or appreciated. Mary embodied the Italian spirit, her hospitality was as incredible as the meals she made, she showed her love of others through feasts of plenty. Her table was the place where family and friends gathered. It was in her home where glasses would be charged, bellies would be stuffed, and laughter and conversation would go on for hours. Mary loved her life, making a home in Sandy, watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow and flourish. Her appreciation for the esthetic of her neighborhood presented outwardly in her garden, once winning an award for the most beautiful yard in Sandy. Mary and Lou both had a passion for traveling, especially to Italy to spend time with relatives who remained close.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Louis V. DaRonche in 2012. She is survived by her two sons Ronald E. DaRonche (Fran) and John P. DaRonche (Shelly), as well as seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A viewing and rosary will be held on Thursday 6/24/2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, Utah 84092
