Richard Bryce Creer (Dick) 78, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on November 27th, 2021 surrounded by his family in his South Jordan home. He was born on December 12th, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Max Bryce and Lillian Beth Kamerath Creer. He married Donna Haumont Creer on November 12th, 1966 in her hometown of Buhl, Idaho.

Dick is survived by his loving wife Donna; 2 children, son Danny Creer (Autumn), daughter Codee Obray (Tyler); 6 grandchildren, Saige, Whitney, Kamryn, and Owen Obray, Khalib Kilgo (Bailey), and Cole Creer; sister, Sharon (Richard) Wilcox.
He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, brother, sister, aunt and uncle.

Dick graduated from Olympus High School in 1961, and then served in the U.S. Army Reserve for 9 years. He was an entrepreneur who started several businesses. In 1987 he started an electronics company, Mountain Tech Sales and Assembly, which he ran with his son Danny for over 33 years.

He was passionate about big engines, boating, snowmobiling, rock hounding, and hot rods. His children have fond memories of him building a 1923 T Bucket in the garage of their childhood home. He also enjoyed spending time in the outdoors hunting, camping, and motorcycling mostly in the Uinta Mountains. He loved watching old spaghetti western movies. His favorite was a Clint Eastwood film “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly” from 1966. The theme song was well known by his family because it was the ringtone on his cell phone. He was a man of many talents: karate instructor, gymnast, mechanic, welder, and fabricator just to name a few. He could build or fix anything. He found the most joy in spending time with his family and teaching his grandchildren about his passions.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend, and neighbor who would do anything for the people he cared about.

The family would like to thank the team of doctors and nurses at the IMC Cancer Center who cared for him and for the love and support from his incredible neighbors. He will be truly missed and never forgotten. We appreciate all of the sacrifices he made for his family. We were very fortunate to have him in our lives. We love you.

A visitation will be held Saturday, December 4, 2021 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, Utah. Graveside services will follow at 12:30 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.

Following the services, a luncheon will be held at 2:30 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 10860 South 3200 West, South Jordan, Utah 84095.

I'm so sorry and saddened to hear of your loss. Dick was always extremely supportive and great customer of mine. I learned much from Dick, and he will be greatly missed. I will always remember the fun we had doing business together, his generosity, and great times golfing. - Thoughts and prayers from the Cramm Family.

So sad to have Dick gone. Some of my earliest memories in life include him. He was my protector because I was the youngest cousin. Loved the rides in his white Bel-Air, backseat, radio on, top down, the came the SS faster for sure. Remember the day him and his sweetheart were married. I still can’t do that wedding walk thing! He told me not to worry about it. Just walk. Many years have gone by, but I always loved and looked up to my protector.
May God bless and protect you awesome family, and relieve the sorrow and pain of you loss. May we also rejoice in your journey home, no more pain, and knowing we will see you again.

    Our deepest sympathies,

    Kevin & Kara

Sister (Diana) Neve and I are currently serving a Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints here in Nauvoo, IL. Elder Doug Bingham & his wonderful wife finished his service here with us a couple months ago. Sadly he passed away from a stroke a week ago and we were logging on to watch his service now when I saw the sad news about my cousin Dick. I wish I could be there to support the family and express our love in person. Donna, you and the family are in our hearts and prayers. I assume the graveside service will not be broadcast on zoom or otherwise. If by chance it is going to be broadcast please let me know. 801-680-2898

What a joy it was to visit with Dick. Every time Dick and Danny and I would visit, the topics seemed to evolve toward wheeled toys or firearms or things Dick had purchased on the internet. Dick was always so kind and patient, always willing to share his vast knowledge on anything he had experienced. He always expressed to me how proud he was of his family and how much he enjoyed spending time with them. He bought me lunch on several occasions and invited me to join him and Danny while we ate and visited. He was always willing to share with me anything he had and on one occasion he loaned me a slot machine (for entertainment purposes) for an event. It was the hit of the party. I never tired of visiting with Dick. He shared with me his philosophies of life and happiness. He always seemed happy and despite challenges he faced, he always had a pleasant demeanor and a kind word. Thank you Dick for all the good you represented. Condolences to Danny and the family. I am certain Dick will be missed greatly. We can all be better people by remembering the kindness Dick exemplified.

Danny and family, I’m so heartbroken to hear of Dick’s passing. He was the best boss I ever had. I have so many memories of you and your dad at work. He helped me through some of the worst times of my life. He was such a thoughtful and caring person. My son Jesse still remembers being able to come to work and seeing the lizards and Dick always giving him those tiger suckers! I hope all the wonderful memories of all the good times you and your family had with him can help you through this difficult time. I consider it a privilege to have worked for him and seeing you grow for the 10 years I worked for him. He helped give me the courage and confidence I needed at the time, and I will always be thankful for that. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Jayme Chu

Donna I am so sorry about Richard passing away. He was a amazing man. I was so happy to see him each day during his radiation treatment. He would always bring so many interesting rocks for me and the other employees to see and he would teach us about them as well. He would show me all the cars that he would restore and all the pictures of all the interesting things that he collected. He was truly a man of all trades. His smile always just lit up the room. He will be missed but never forgotten and I'm sure he's up there right now in heaven teaching everybody! My life is better to have met you both. All my love and prayers to you and your family. I will cherish the rock that Richard gave me from the last Rock show that he went to.

Many of my life’s memories include Dick, Donna, Danny and Codee…

Family camping trips in the Uintah mountains; picnics at the Spruces; Holiday family celebrations…

Childhood rides in the back seat of Dick’s convertible and the excitement I felt as the wind brushed my face and disheveled my hair…

What a legacy Dick built! He touched many lives in a positive way and will be sorely missed. So grateful for the wonderful happy memories Dick left for us to savor…

Love to Dick & Donna; Danny, Autumn, Khalib & Cole; Codee, Tyler, Saige, Whitney, Kamryn & Owen
