  • Ruth Anderson Robinson, age 97 passed away at her home on May 2, 2021. She was born on February 1, 1924 in Lund, Idaho, daughter of Hans Anderson & Annie Dabling. While working as a secretary in the Army, she met her future husband Lowell G. Robinson as he was shipping out to England for World War II. They were married September 1, 1945 and later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, together they raised 6 children.

She worked for the LDS Garment Dist. Center & enjoyed it. She was very talented & her hands were rarely still from creating works of art through cross-stitch, crochet, embroidery & sewing that her 6 children, 17 grandchildren & 19 great grandchildren hold so precious, especially now. She may not have approved of everything we did, may not have liked some of the decisions we made, but she just kept loving us, letting us know that she was there if we ever needed her, we could count on her to listen, to comfort, to help in any way. Her Hugs made everything better. It did not take much to make her happy—a phone call, a card, a visit, or a meal spent together meant the world to her. Family was most important to her.

To think that someone like her felt that way about us should make us all feel more than just a little good. We can never forget that there is a part of her in each of us, something that she gave to us and asked nothing in return. Money can be spent, and property ruined, but what we inherited from her cannot be damaged, destroyed or lost. It is permanent, and it keeps her from becoming just a wonderful memory. It allows her in so many ways to remain just as alive as always through us. There will be times in our lives when situations arise where we will want so much to talk to her, be with her or ask her just what we should do. I hope that, when those times come, we can begin to look within ourselves and find that part of her that she gave to each of us. Maybe then she won’t seem quite so far away. So, for your wisdom, your humor, tenderness, compassion, your understanding, your patience, and your love; thank you! After you, Grandma, the mold was indeed broken. Thank you so much. We love you.

She is survived by children: Pat, Dave, Rick, Kim & Rob. Preceded in death by husband LG “Robbie” Robinson & son Dale A. Robinson.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 11 am at the Hyland Lake Ward, 981 E. Revere Circle (5550 S.) SLC, UT 84117.
