Our loving son, brother, and friend, Staff Sergeant Jaden Asher Hall, lost his battle after a year of fighting depression. Although our hearts are broken, his positive presence touched so many lives. He passed away on January 9, 2021 Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington State.

Jaden was born on 24 Aug 1994 in American Fork, Utah. He always had a passion for all things adventurous and “strongly encouraged” others to join him. He started at a young age with soccer, paintball, and fishing. His passion for adventure continued into his late teens with snowboarding, biking, rock climbing, hiking, and more fishing. He had a relentless drive that ensured that, to their dismay, he was always better than both sisters at any activity. Time with family was always valued by Jaden. Whether it was crepes with the family, time at the lake, or wolf-ums by the fire, Jaden’s enthusiasm brought something that can never be duplicated.

After graduating Alta High School in 2013 Jaden joined the U.S. Army in 2014 with an MOS of Biomedical Equipment Specialist.

After completing basic training in Oklahoma and specialized training in Texas, he was stationed in Seoul, South Korea. Jaden used this opportunity to seek many new adventures, eat strange creatures from the sea, and share his smile with new buddies. In 2016 he was transferred to JBLM in Washington State where he was able to meet new friends, continue his education and training, and raise his fishing to the next level. With new hobbies such as card games, motorcycling, BBQ’s, painting, and kayaking with Leon his lizard, Jaden was able to live his life to the fullest, as he always did.

Although we will never be able to see him again, Jaden’s drive will push us to continue his adventurous lifestyle and he will live on in our memories.

Jaden is survived by his parents Dale and Dianna, his siblings Justin, Tayla (Garrett), and Ambria, his grandmother Lorene Skinner, grandparents Larry and Glena Hall, as well as numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and Leon the Lizard.

An open house to visit and pay respects while practicing social distancing and mask wearing, which will be required, will be held Monday, January 25th from 11 AM to 1 PM at The Rose Shop Chateau at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road (10600 S.), Sandy, Utah.

Military honors will be held at 2 PM at the Utah Veterans Cemetery and Memorial Park, 17111 South Camp Williams Rd. (Redwood Road), Bluffdale, Utah where Jaden will be inniched.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in memoriam to https://stopsoldiersuicide.org/ or https://milbenfoundation.org/

Another celebration of Jaden’s life will be held at a later date.

First and foremost I am truly sorry for your loss of an amazing man. I was fortunate enough to be his first NCOIC straight out of the school house at his first duty assignment here in South Korea, he was such an intelligent Soldier with a knack for learning and becoming a very technical biomedical equipment repairer. A Soldier that would walk into every joke about him but in the end always smiled and oh boy that smile would light up the room. This hit my my heart pretty hard when I heard but know God has another amazing angel to to swarm above your family and everyone he met. Till we meet again SSG Hall may you rest easy brother with no more pain. The rest of the NCOs got the watch know. 😭

Melanie first brought this sad news to our attention. We are so shocked and saddened by the loss of such a young, good life. We understand depression at our house and have lost family members because of it, too. Our love and condolences go out to you. Sorry we have lost touch over the years. We ran into Brayden Diamond at our grandson's baptism and that was the last news we have had of your family. Stay strong and know you are loved and remembered.

Dianna & Dell, we're so sorry to hear about the passing of your son, Jaden. Death of a child is heart breaking. We had the opportunity to be in Jaden's company at the home of Troy & Dorcas. We remember him as a very social, bright & kind young man. We were amazed how much love was given to him by your family members. We send our love and condolences to you & your family.

Hi you guys. I love you and my thoughts and prayers are for you. My whole childhood is filled with you guys and I want to thank you for that. Jaden was one of my best friends, you know all the times he Brayden, and I would play together. All those sleep overs in the basement. When you guys got rock band and we jammed out. Playing foosball and darts. When you took the time to teach my how to play Settlers. (Remember that Diana, Tayla? Man, that game was way over my head but you guys and Jaden stuck with me to help me learn and it was awesome.) Then you built the awesome playhouse/hangout in the back yard and our sleep overs with Little Caesars pizza bought with our combined money moved from the basement to out there with a good old Blockbuster film. Then there was that epic birthday party! I think it may have been Tayla and Jaden’s party combined because both Andrew and I were invited and we went paint balling. Man that was epic! And then of course just good old times being with one another. I still remember fondly getting to walk up to Valley View as a group every day for school. Life was so simple back then. Jaden was the cool one with the awesome ideas and smile on his face to get it done. I can still hear his laugh from all of our time spent together. He’s my friend, and I will always love him for that. I’m so sorry to hear that he battled depression. What a sore trial to face, for him and you. I still regret not being home (I believe I was at BYU doing class or homework) when my Dad called to say that Jaden had stopped by (possibly with Ambria) just to say hi and see how we were doing after all these years. He said they had a wonderful talk and was so impressed with what a kind, fun, and intelligent man he had become. How I wish I was home that day. You will all forever be a major pet of my childhood, and Jaden will forever be my childhood friend. It is his picture in all of my childhood photo albums. My deepest condolences.

- Kaden Day

I am so sorry to hear this news. Although Jaden and I haven't been close since I moved, I still often thought about him. At some point last year I even sent him a picture of us as little toddlers! I know depression all too well, as well as the pain of losing a loved one to it.
I apologize for not making it to the service, I had planned on it but it ended up not working out. I'll make sure to scan in those older photos I've found and tag him in them on facebook, in case you don't have them yourself.
Please feel free to reach out to me on facebook if you need to talk or need emotional support with this.
Jaden will be missed.
