  • Timothy returned home to his Father in Heaven on November 12, 2020 at the age of 38. Tim died of pancreatic cancer after being diagnosed just three months prior with this horrible disease.

Tim or Timmy as he’s mostly known by friends and family was introduced to the world, in Salt Lake City, Utah on March 3, 1982 by his parents William and Ursula Thomson. Tim was the baby of a large family of six children.
Tim as a baby, was at first believed to be slow in walking and in speech until one day, with no siblings to do his bidding spoke in complete sentences and walked across the room to get what he wanted, much to his Mother’s surprise. His three older brothers and two sisters loved him and doted on him and there was no need to do these things for himself.
Tim’s childhood was spent in Sandy, Utah attending Quail Hollow Elementary and walking home with his good friend Taylor Christensen and then was joined by another friend, Adam Angelovich.
Middle school followed at Albion Middle School and then at Brighton High School, graduating with the class of 2000.
Two achievements of which Tim was most proud of was attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and receiving his black belt in karate.
Tim served in the Manchester, England Mission 2001-2002 for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He liked their chocolate and loved their people. He came home with a strong testimony that would be his foundation for the rest of his life.
Shortly after returning, he met the love of his life Daniela Yarelli Chaho or as he fondly called her “His Chimi”. Tim went out of his comfort zone and even travelled to Mexico to date Daniela. They were married on September 13, 2003.
Tim was always a hard worker and rose quickly in the insurance field. His most recent promotion was to the Assistant Vice President of Risk Management at Prime Insurance.

Tim’s wit and humor will be dearly missed by those lucky enough to know and love him. Tim was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years Daniela, daughters Abigail (8) and Sydney (3), mother, Ursula Waess Thomson, siblings, Perry Thomson (Bobbie), Christa Warren (JDee), Mark Thomson (Tracy), Laura Thomson, Teresa Schink (John), Roxeanne Nowinski (Frank), many nieces and nephews who adored him and members of Daniela’s family.
Tim is preceded in death by his brother Billy, father, William, and brother Rory.

In lieu of flowers Tim’s sister has set up a Go-Fund-Me to off-set medical costs and secure a future for his young family.

A viewing (9-10:30am) and funeral services (11am) will be held for those who wish to pay their respects in honor of Tim on November 18 at Larkin Mortuary, Riverton, Utah 84065. Interment to follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens, Sandy, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road (10600 S.) Sandy, Utah. If you would like to offer your condolences in person, please wear a mask.

Ursula & Thomson Family — so sad & sorry to hear about Timmy😔 He was a part of OUR Family since he was 8 years old. We loved having him join us on some of our outings & when he met Dani we were so happy to have her in our lives also. Timmy had a sense of humor which Johnny never quite “got” but pretended like he did. Tim & I always just laughed! All our love & prayers for your family. We will miss him & Dani & girls visits to St George. We will miss him dearly . Such a great guy!

Tim is so loved by my family. He worked for our family since he was 13 years old. I watched him grow up into an amazing man. He babysat my kids countless times, and even took care of my dying grandmother. He was funny and silly and just fun and easy to be around. His playful and humorous attitude was endearing.
Tim wasn’t just an employee, he was a member of our family. He is truly very special to us. He will forever remain in our hearts until we see him again.

My heartfelt condolences to the Thomson family. Tim will be greatly missed by his Prime family; especially his funny sense of humor. He made me laugh every time I spoke with him and I will always remember him for this. I pray that your family will be blessed with peace and comfort.
