Our father, William “Bill” Arvil Sessions, 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 4, 2022.

He was born December 18, 1933, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Arvil and Leola Sessions. From January 1952-January 1955, Bill served in the Army, Company B, 802D Engineer Aviation Battalion where he received a commendation for his quick action which resulted in saving a much-needed supply tent.

After Bill’s military service, he married Anna Lee Lewis (later divorced) and had two children, William (Willy) and Cheri.

Bill met his sweetheart, Maralyn Schow Sessions, and they were married on November 11, 1957. Bill and Maralyn had five children. Randy Sessions, Ron Sessions, Rick (Christy) Sessions, Robinne (David) Beecher, and Chris Bravo. He had 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Maralyn, his parents, Arvil and Leola, his son William, and granddaughter Chantelle.

Bill was a Veteran of the Korean War, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and a long-time member of the Midvale Lions Club.

Bill loved each of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with all his heart. He loved life and loved to joke around with people. He was fondly known by his nieces and nephews as “Uncle Pidgeon”. If you ever needed anything he would do anything to help. He served as President of the West Valley City Girls Softball League and spent many years serving/coaching the youth. If there was ever a crisis, he was always levelheaded and knew what to do. Bill saved many lives because of his ability to react and think quickly.

The family would like to give a special “Thank You!” to Mary Beth Patton for her nursing abilities and loving care of Bill/Dad while he was here on earth.

A viewing will be held at Larkin Mortuary – Riverton, 3688 W 12600 S, Riverton, UT on Thursday, September 8, 2022, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
