Mitch is a licensed funeral director, embalmer and cremation specialist with Larkin Mortuary. He was born and raised in the Salt Lake valley in a family of all boys. He graduated from Hillcrest High School and soon after joined the funeral profession after he was touched by the service his family received during the many funerals they had while growing up.
After 3 years of working in the funeral profession and completing his apprenticeship, he moved to Dallas, Texas to attend the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. While in school, Mitch served as class vice president, was a member of Pi Sigma Eta, the national morticians’ academic fraternity, and served as the fraternity chaplain. He graduated in 2015 and moved back to Salt Lake where he quickly licensed and began working with Larkin Mortuary.
One of the things Mitch loves most about his job is the ability to be there with the many families and help guide them through the difficult process. He loves explaining and showing them the many options that are available in the memorialization process to be able to personalize the services in honoring their loved ones. He considers working in the funeral profession his calling in life.
When not working, he works as an Ice Hockey official, where he is able to help people of all ages learn to play and enjoy the sport. He has had the opportunity to officiate many local and national tournaments and championships. He enjoys spending time at Bear Lake at his family cabin, off-roading and exploring the many mountain trails around the state. He ultimately loves any activity which allows him to spend time with family and friends.
