Melissa was born in Salt Lake City, the daughter of Lance and Becky Larkin. She graduated from East High School and then earned her Associate of Science degree with a certificate in accounting from Ensign College.

Melissa began shadowing her father at an early age, learning every aspect of the many Larkin companies. She has worked in many areas, from landscaping and mowing, to taking floral orders for the Rose Shop, to currently working in the mortuary accounting office and as a funeral arranger. Melissa is especially grateful for the opportunity she has to assist and serve families as they make arrangements to celebrate the lives of their loved ones.

Melissa enjoys traveling and going on adventures with her husband (Derek) and four children (Jake, Layla, Kallie and Izaak.) She loves running (marathons), biking (triathlons), and most of all, waterskiing. Melissa always seems to have a project; she is as comfortable with a hammer and power saw as she is with ceramic brushes. Working, playing and, especially family, make her life very full.
