1924 ~ 2014

Curtie was born March 9, 1924, in Panguitch, Utah, to Harry Judd and Ida Hazel Hatch. She died on July 20, 2014, at home in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the age of 90, with family members at her bedside. Curtie grew up in Panguitch and attended Panguitch High School. During World War II, she lived in Salt Lake City, where she worked as a packer and checker of military supplies at Hill Field Air Base. She loved her country and was very proud of the work she did that contributed to the war effort. She married William Cunningham, by whom she had her daughter, Georgia. They were later divorced. She then married Wayne Riggs, that marriage was later solomized in the St. George Utah Temple. See was a cook at the Bryce Way Restaurant in Panguitch for many years. She quit working to take care of her mother when she was ill, and to take care of her family. She elevated the title ‘Homemaker' to a new level. Family and friends often teased her about the fact that she would iron her sheets, pillowcases, and sometimes even her towels. Some even referred to her as ‘Mrs. Clean'. She was a great cook. Her kids and grandkids especially loved her peanut butter fudge and her hot homemade rolls. She loved her family, which included her many nieces and nephews, as well as friends. She also had a great love for others, especially those in need. She did many kind and charitable acts for those in need. Most of the time she did not even know the people she was serving. It did not matter to her who it was, all that mattered was the fact they were in need. She had a strong testimony of prayer and was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, until declining health would no longer permit her to attend. Although she had many health issues throughout her whole life, she always considered herself blessed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Riggs; parents, Harry and Hazel Judd; her brothers, Don Judd, and Cecil Judd; sisters Mary Perkins, and Julia Laird; and a niece and nephew.
