Judy Ann Parcell Mangum died on March 13, 2018. She was born on May 6, 1947, in Heber, Utah to Van Parcell and Carol Ann Carter Parcell. She grew up in Orem, Utah and graduated from Orem High School in 1965. She married Don Robert Mangum on January 3, 1968. Don and Judy had just celebrated 50 years of marriage this year. They had six children together; Tiffany (John) Cooke, Tamara (Steve) Bailie, Tracy (Lisa), Troy (Mandi), Ashley, and Tyler. She was the grandmother of Amanda and Nick Cooke and Cassidy, McKenna, and Cori Bailie. She was preceded in death by her son, Tyler, and her father, Van.
Judy was an avid University of Utah fan and loved going to the football and basketball games. If she has anything to do with it, both teams will enjoy very successful seasons next year! Judy loved the lighthouses and puffins of the Oregon Coast, the white sand of the Florida Keys, the fun atmosphere of Disneyland and All Things Disney. She collected many different kinds of dolls over the years including her favorite Madame Alexander dolls. She had the ability to transform any space simply by the decorations she chose. Whenever you stepped into her home you were transported instantly into the next holiday. She created the most beautiful Christmas trees and holiday wrapping and could make even the smallest of gifts look so elaborate that the recipient would enjoy the packaging as much as the surprise inside. You could always count on Judy for a fun card in the mail, just the right gift for any celebration, a delicious home cooked meal, and a hug. She loved her grandchildren dearly and enjoyed every moment she could spend with them. She was kind hearted and empathetic and was the heart of our family.
Join us for a celebration of Judy's life on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road (10600 S.) in Sandy, Utah. Friends may gather that day beginning at 12 noon. A short celebration for all to share our good times with Judy will begin at 2pm in the mortuary chapel. A private graveside service will take place at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
Judy always wished for everyone to feel welcome and to come as you are, so please feel free to wear whatever you're most comfortable in and colors are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, please do something kind for someone else. Look at the sky, watch the birds, go barefoot on the beach, and take time to really see the sunsets.
